Are my files moved from Google Drive to another location?

Accepted Answer

No. Your files stay 100% in Google Drive. FolderPls only stores file IDs and the metadata (labels) you add. We don't touch the files themselves.

Will my Drive folder structure break when using FolderPls?

Never. FolderPls works completely independently of your Drive folder structure. Your Drive folders remain exactly as they are, and we only provide you with a 'virtual' view.

How do Drive permissions work?

We use your existing Google Drive permissions. If a user doesn't have permission to view a file in Drive, they won't be able to see it in FolderPls either.

Where is metadata stored?

The labels and project information you add are stored in our databases. They're not written into the files, so file integrity remains intact.

Why filtering instead of just searching?

Searching requires you to remember the file name. Filtering allows you to say 'show me the approved files from the marketing team'—which is more natural for the human brain.

Can I use FolderPls with multiple Google Drive accounts?

Currently, FolderPls works with one Google Drive account at a time. You can switch accounts by signing out and signing in with a different account.

What happens if I delete a label?

When you delete a label, it's removed from all files that had it. The files themselves remain unchanged in Google Drive.
